PASTOR DR. G.O. OLUTOLA
There is no doubting the fact that Baba Olutola was a true servant of God. A man of many parts, very articulate, versatile and always filled with the spirit of God. He was a rare gift of God to mankind. He was a preacher of the word of God breaking it into several portions so as to make it clear and convincing. I can recall that in 1984 at Oke Ado District Mens Movement Rally, Pastor Olutola was the Guest Speaker on the topic, “Here am I, send me” (Isa. 6 vs 8c). He was able to divide the words in beautiful and convincing exposition. Pastor Olutola was a one – man squad preaching the word of God all over whether in Nigeria, Ivory Coast (Cot’devoir), Sierra Leone, Britain and the United States of America. He was well gifted in dishing out the words of God. Baba has been a Radio & T.V Evangelist even at retirement example is UNIC Radio and Freedom Television in Ilesa.
Baba Olutola was always ready to take decision once convinced: As Visitor & Chancellor of the Glorious Vision University (GVU), he contributed a lot to the founding and proper establishment of the institution. Baba can be said to be a polyglot who easily picked up the local language of any environment. Esan land is a case study. In Ijesaland, the good Lord allowed him to initiated Ilesa Central Temple, which ran for more than four decades and got completed (Halleluyah). The Okebode ancestral home world never forget Pastor Olutola’s contribution and great landmark when he celebrated his 80th birthday.
We pray that God will send more people like Baba Olutola into His fold – TACN and de-populate the kingdom of darkness. Baba Olutola gave impetus to the memory of the Late Pastor J.A Babatope, the pioneer leader of the Apostolic Church in Ilesa and the Old Ilesa Area. A book on the life and times of Pastor J.A Babatope was written a launched in the early 80s. He was also honored in naming the main Auditorium of the Glorious Vision University at Ogwa, Babatope Hall.
