Miss You Grandpa
My earliest memories of my grandfather consisted of a sense of profound adoration as i had not only known him to be a huge influence on my mum’s character but i had also heard so many stories of when he was alot younger then i was privileged to get to know him myself and I must say he was a very remarkable man
I always looked forward to visiting lagos as it meant i spent time with my Grandpa as people always said we were similar in character. He was a strong-minded man who had a great sense of humour and was easy to talk to. He was a true man of God, and he always had a positive outlook on life. I will never forget how much he loved turkeys, It was something that always made us laugh. I cherish every moment I had with him, and I will always be grateful for the time we spent together.
Fast forward to the night when my mother informed me of his passing, I was ready to be sad and grieve. However, I was glad that he had enjoyed having so much fun in his last years, while also having people to comfort him. I was grateful to all those who had taken care of him at home, all those who prepared food for him, and all those who kept him company. It was heartwarming to see how much they loved and cared for him. He left a positive impact on everyone he met, and I will always be proud to call him my grandfather. I love you, Grandpa, and I hope your soul rests peacefully in the hands of the Lord.
